Join Tozero Europes leading deeptech startup specializing in the recycling of lithiumion batteries. Tasks
Tech master. Execution of the processes building up a plant and excitement for innovation are in your core.
As a hydrometallurgical engineer at tozero you will have the opportunity to make the electrification of world sustainable by contributing to a wide variety of processes and projects in battery recycling field.
- You will be a part of engineering team leveraging all the fields of chemical and hydrometallurgical processing by taking the active role in process development and its continuous improvements technical support and a research and development to address the future challenges of battery recycling industry.
- You will work closely with internal crossfunctional teams external vendors and technology partners on building the prototype plant and scaling it up even further.
- In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery recycling factory

As a part of a young startup your responsibilities will stretch across wide engineering field of work and support on development and implementation of hydrometallurgical pilot process plant tasks among others.
- Tradeoff evaluations and studies of different technologies
- Process conceptualization and development
- Support on design layout and simulations of process and pilot plant
- Coordination with other process units equipment mechanical electrical and support disciplines and other stakeholders
- Pilot plant implementation and installation assistance
- Extensive test work on different scales
- Pilot plant commissioning and rampup
- Linking R&D with the development of commercial scale equipment and processes
- Identification of future trends in battery recycling industry and report writing
- Become a key role shaping company culture
Requirements
Every success is different but we think our will be reachable faster and with more fun if you posses the qualities listed below.
Tech skills:
- M.Sc. or PhD in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering Chemistry Materials Science or related discipline.
- up to 6 years working experience in chemical hydrometallurgical or mineral processing field (depending on position level)
- Knowledge of any data analysing software (e.g. Microsoft Excel OriginLab)
- Experience with any thermochemical software (e.g. HSC Chemistry) is valuable
- Track record of experimental R&D work and achievements
- Track record of handling chemical processes in a fast growing environment ideally in the metal recycling or mining industry is valuable
- Professional working efficiency of English written and oral skills
Soft skills:
- Self Motivated and proactive with a hands on approach
- Has a can do attitude and problemsolving skills
- Ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines excellent time management
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment as well as independently
- Ability to work in a high profile and often high pressured international environment

- After reviewing your documents we will get back to you and schedule an Intro Call where you learn about tozero our mission and the team. We get to know you and understand your motivation.
- Prior to the next session you will receive a case study to work on. This part is important to us to assess your cultural and business fit for the role.
- Founders interview you will talk to Ksenija (CTO) and Sarah (CEO) and we will evaluate your fit to our company culture (culture values working style etc..).
- If all parties are happy we will make you an offer and you can start right away.
