Overview
Key responsibilities
- Consulting with clients to determine their makeup needs and preferences
- Applying makeup for individuals or groups for events or special occasions
- Creating a variety of looks from natural to dramatic according to clients requests
- Ensuring hygienic practices by cleaning and sanitizing makeup tools and work area
- Advising clients on skincare and cosmetics
- Collaborating with hairstylists and other beauty professionals to achieve a cohesive look
- Staying updated on the latest makeup trends and products
- Providing makeup trials and consultations to potential clients
- Complying with health and safety regulations
- Managing and maintaining an inventory of makeup products and tools
- Offering makeup lessons and tutorials to clients if applicable
- Building and maintaining a loyal client base through exceptional service and artistry
- Participating in marketing and promotional activities to attract new clients
- Participating in photoshoots fashion shows or other industry events as needed
Required qualifications
- Proven experience as a Makeup Artist or relevant role
- Demonstrated portfolio of previous work and satisfied clients
- Excellent knowledge of makeup products tools and application techniques
- Strong understanding of color theory and skin tones
- Ability to work well under pressure and in fastpaced environments
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Certification from a recognized makeup school or relevant training program
- Ability to adapt to different client preferences and needs
- Uptodate knowledge of health and safety regulations for makeup application
- Attention to detail and creativity in creating unique looks
- Flexibility to work on weekends evenings and holidays as per clients schedules
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area at all times
- Passion for beauty and a commitment to staying current with industry trends
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
