Civil Designer

Roles and responsibilities

. Design and Drafting:

• Create detailed civil engineering designs and drawings, including site layouts, grading plans, drainage systems, and road alignments.
• Develop 2D and 3D models using software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or Revit.
• Prepare construction drawings, blueprints, and schematics for infrastructure projects.

2. Collaboration and Coordination:

• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other professionals to understand project requirements and incorporate design inputs.
• Coordinate with surveyors and geotechnical engineers to integrate topographical and subsurface data into designs.
• Work with contractors and construction teams to ensure designs are accurately implemented.

3. Compliance with Standards:

• Ensure designs adhere to local building codes, industry standards, and environmental regulations.
• Incorporate health, safety, and environmental (HSE) guidelines into all designs.

4. Quantity Estimation:

• Calculate materials, costs, and quantities required for civil works.
• Prepare and review material take-offs (MTOs) and bill of quantities (BOQs).

5. Project Documentation:

• Maintain and update design documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, and design revisions.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations for project stakeholders.

6. Field Support and Troubleshooting:

• Provide technical support during the construction phase, including resolving design discrepancies or on-site issues.
• Conduct site visits to verify construction progress and ensure compliance with design specifications.

7. Innovation and Optimization:

• Propose innovative design solutions to optimize project costs and timelines.
• Leverage technology and software to improve design efficiency and accuracy.

Desired candidate profile

Candidate having 15+ years’ experience in design drafting of Reinforced concrete and steel structures for Brownfield and Greenfield onshore Projects in Oil and Gas Industry. He/ She shall also be capable of doing underground design drafting. He/ she will be responsible for working on various projects i.e. Conceptual design & study, FEED & basic engineering and detailed design.

• Ensures the qualitative design of the installation in his/her discipline in one project within contractual requirements and Technip standards and procedures in coordination with other disciplines.
• Knowledge of material.
• Ensures the accuracy of the material take off.
• Good communication skills essential.
• Coordination with team, other disciplines and PMT.
• Familiar with SHELL DEP`s and other industry standards,
• Qatar/Middle east Experience is essential.
