Site survey and report
1. Structural Design and Analysis:
Develop detailed designs for offshore structures, including fixed platforms, floating units, subsea installations, and wind turbines.
Perform complex structural analyses to ensure stability, strength, and safety under various loading conditions, including environmental (wind, wave, current) and operational loads.
Use advanced software tools like STAAD.Pro, ANSYS, SACS, and Abaqus to model and simulate structural behavior.
2. Load and Stress Evaluation:
Calculate and evaluate loads from environmental, operational, and accidental events such as wave impacts, wind forces, and seismic activity.
Conduct fatigue and fracture analysis to ensure structures can withstand long-term cyclic loading.
3. Code Compliance and Standard Adherence:
Ensure designs comply with international and regional standards such as API RP 2A, ISO 19900 series, DNV GL, AISC, and other industry-specific guidelines.
Stay updated on evolving industry standards and implement them in projects.
4. Material Selection and Specification:
Select materials suitable for offshore environments, considering corrosion resistance, strength, and durability.
Specify coatings and cathodic protection systems to mitigate corrosion and extend the life of the structure.
5. Project Leadership:
Lead and oversee the structural engineering aspects of offshore projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards.
Act as the technical authority on structural matters and provide guidance to junior engineers and design teams.
Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural engineering discipline
Minimum of 10 years experience in design of offshore structures/platforms
Be able to lead a small group of Junior Engineers and Designers
