Junior Civil Engineer

Roles and responsibilities

Oil & Gas projects - onshore
On Shore Civil- onshore concrete and steel such as pipe rack, pipe support, platform, technical building and foundations.
Organization and coordination of design/drafting issue.
Generation of drawings and associated document such as MTO drawings
Responsible for the detailed design activities of concrete and steel structures.
Preparation of Design Basis, calculation notes and material take-off.
Check and review drawings.
Coordination with client and other disciplines.
Conduct site survey and preparation site survey report
Design Support:

Assist in the preparation of engineering designs and plans for construction projects.
Use software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or Civil 3D to assist in the creation of drawings, designs, and blueprints.
Collaborate with senior engineers to develop detailed plans for infrastructure projects.
Site Supervision:

Monitor construction sites to ensure that projects are being executed according to design specifications, building codes, and safety standards.
Assist in overseeing day-to-day construction activities, ensuring that the work is progressing on schedule and within budget.
Conduct site inspections and report any issues or deviations to senior engineers.
Quality Control and Testing:

Conduct material testing and quality control checks on construction materials, such as concrete, asphalt, and soil, to ensure they meet the required standards.
Assist in the review and analysis of test results, and prepare reports for senior engineers.
Ensure that the work meets the specifications and industry standards.
Preparation of Reports:

Assist in preparing technical reports, including progress reports, cost estimations, and environmental assessments.
Document project milestones, challenges, and accomplishments, and prepare data for senior engineers and stakeholders.
Keep detailed records of site activities and project developments.

Desired candidate profile

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
2 to 5 years of work experience in Oil & Gas projects.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in using civil engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SAP2000, etc.) for designing, drafting, and modeling.
Understanding of engineering principles and construction materials.
Basic knowledge of building codes, environmental regulations, and health and safety standards.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

Strong analytical skills to assist in solving technical and structural challenges during the design and construction phases.
Ability to identify potential problems in designs, materials, or construction processes and suggest corrective measures.
Communication Skills:

Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, collaborating with colleagues, and liaising with contractors and clients.
Ability to effectively present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Attention to Detail:

High attention to detail to ensure accurate designs, drawings, and documentation.
Ability to spot discrepancies or issues in construction work or design plans.
Teamwork and Collaboration:

Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with senior engineers, architects, and contractors.
Willingness to learn from more experienced engineers and contribute to team success.
Project Management:

Basic understanding of project management principles, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
