Principal Process Engineer

Roles and responsibilities

• Ensures continuity of Process engineering works based on assigned project SOW requirements.
• Is in charge of reviewer/ preparer of process deliverables.
• Is In charge of resolving technical queries of Clients.
• Perform and review process calculations and Process drawings/documents.
• Participate in Site Survey for Process support as per project requirements.
  
  

Main Accountabilities:

• Develop and document Process Design Basis.
• Carry out process studies independently.
• Evaluate and optimize process schemes.
• Experience with process simulation software (i.e., Aspen Plus, HYSYS, Pro II,Flarenet, Pipenet transient, OLGA etc.)
• Provide assistance to the HOD, as requested, in the areas of schedules, estimates, progress reports, meetings, procurement, activities etc.
• Assist, as required, in the development of department standards and procedures. Contributes to the development of a process knowledge database, capturing events and experiences and writing technical notes.
• Assist with Quality Audits
• Field experience including troubleshooting, start-up, commissioning, etc. would be a plus
• A deep and thorough understanding of codes, regulatory requirements and industry practices. Experience with determining best practices and procedures while contributing to the development of new concepts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills allowing for effective communication in multidisciplinary project teams involving representative from the client, other departments within Technip Energies Doha, and other consultants and contractors.
• Results oriented, with good organization skills, attention for detail, and the capability of efficiently working simultaneously on multiple projects.
• Develops process execution and quality plan for projects.
• Optimizes engineering analysis and solutions produced by Process engineering teams.
• Ensures that the operating, quality control procedures, standards and project specifications are followed.
• Ensures good quality, schedule and cost of Process engineering activities within projects and/or operations.
• Develop Process Engineers by providing appraisal of activities, training and coaching.

Desired candidate profile

Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering is required.
Minimum 15 years of chemical process engineering experience in similar EPC environment for Onshore / Offshore projects and having experience in Concept & sizable FEED and EPIC projects.
Significant experience of team supervision and/or coordination.
Experience in carrying out surge studies using Pipenet Transient.
Hierarchically reports to: HOD, Process & Technology.
Operationally reports to: Project Manager, HOD - Process & Technology.
Directly supervises (operationally): Senior Process Engineer and Lead P&ID’s.
Key interactions (internally, externally): Engineering Discipline Manager, Cost Control Manager, Planning Manager, Estimating Manager, Client and Licensor.
Ensures that the operating, quality control procedures, standards and project specifications are followed.
Ensures good quality, schedule and cost of Process engineering activities within projects and/or operations.
Develop Process Engineers by providing appraisal of activities, training and coaching.
