Purpose of the role:
As Cell Manufacturing Engineer you will be focused on supporting and developing the current fuel cell manufacturing processes and equipment. This will also support the transfer of technical information development installation and commission of new processes and equipment internally and at customer sites. The role will assist in daytoday fuel cell manufacturing at both UK Ceres sites to support innovation of our product.
Key Accountabilities:
The successful candidate will be an experienced manufacturing/process engineer very comfortable in using the modern manufacturing toolbox such as the methodologies of 6 Lean manufacturing and root cause analysis. You will also be a strong problem solver able to experiment effectively analyse and draw conclusions from data and put observations into context. Ideally with a knowledge of deposition techniques ceramic processing and heat treatment processes. Other duties will include.
Cell Engineering of the Fuel Cells manufacturing process.
Undertake technology transfer to manufacturing Licensees.
Provide technical support and training of partner manufacturing personnel.
Working with stakeholders to support delivery of volume manufacturing solutions.
Provide support for manufacturing operations internally at Ceres UK sites.
Develop current manufacturing processes and problem resolution.
Ensure equipment performs within the expected ranges of performance.
Support new product introduction programs.
Knowledge and skills required for the role:
Preferred BEng/Meng Chemical/Process and or Manufacturing Engineering or another relevant field
Several years proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer
Ideally industrial process expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Heat treatment processes
Deposition techniques (Screen printing)
Laser processing
Ceramics processing
6/Lean trained and daily user of these techniques (Issue resolution/Design of experiment/Process capability)
Clear communicator at all levels ability to challenge and influence crossfunctionality
Ability to think creatively and pursue opportunities for innovation
Advanced MS Office skills and preferably in statistical analysis software
Willing to travel abroad
