Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Choir Director to lead two distinct choir programs for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. The Choir Director will be responsible for teaching a musical theatre choir program for 3rd to 5th graders and a general choir program for Kindergarten to 2nd graders. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children a strong background in music and performance and a love for fostering creativity and teamwork in a choir setting.
Tasks
- Teach: Introduce 3rd5th graders to musical theater focusing on acting singing and dancing.
- Performances: Prepare musical scenes from shows like Annie The Lion King Frozen and more.
- Student Involvement: Ensure every student participates and feels involved.
- Feedback: Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Parent Communication: Keep parents updated on students progress and upcoming performances.
- Event Planning: Organize endofterm performances and rehearsals.
- Resource Management: Maintain choir materials and resources.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Music Education or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience teaching music or directing choirs especially with young children.
- Strong vocal and musical skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Enthusiastic and passionate about working with children.
