Job Description

Tax manager (non construction)

Role Overview:

The Tax Manager will oversee complex tax engagements mentor staff and manage client relationships. This role requires a deep understanding of federal state and local tax regulations the ability to strategize for tax efficiency and a strong aptitude for problemsolving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage multiple tax engagements ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Build and maintain client relationships identifying tax planning opportunities.
  • Review and prepare tax returns for corporations partnerships and individuals.
  • Advise on tax implications for transactions and business strategies.
  • Mentor and evaluate junior staff providing guidance and training.
  • Stay current on tax regulations and legislative changes offering proactive advice.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong expertise in tax compliance and planning.
  • Excellent leadership organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in tax software and MS Office Suite.
  • Detailoriented with the ability to work collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting (required); Masters in Taxation (preferred).
  • CPA certification (required).
  • 48 years of public accounting experience in the tax department of a national or regional firm.
