Curriculum Planning and Instruction
- Lesson Planning: Designing lessons that align with the curriculum and help students understand key physics concepts. These lessons should be engaging, clear, and effective in delivering the material.
- Teaching Core Concepts: Explaining foundational principles of physics, such as Newton’s Laws of Motion, the laws of thermodynamics, the theory of relativity, quantum mechanics, electromagnetism, and wave theory. The lessons should encourage both theoretical learning and practical application of these principles.
- Hands-on Demonstrations: Using experiments, demonstrations, and simulations to illustrate physical phenomena and make abstract concepts more tangible for students.

Assessing Student Understanding
- Testing and Grading: Creating and administering assessments such as quizzes, exams, projects, and lab reports to evaluate students’ understanding of physics concepts.
- Providing Feedback: Offering constructive feedback to students on their assignments and exams to help them improve their understanding and problem-solving skills.
- Tracking Progress: Monitoring students’ academic progress and identifying any areas where they may need additional support or tutoring.

Laboratory Instruction
- Supervising Labs: Physics is a subject that often requires practical experiments. Teachers are responsible for supervising and guiding students through laboratory experiments that illustrate theoretical concepts, ensuring that students follow safety procedures and get meaningful results from their experiments.
- Lab Preparation: Preparing laboratory materials, setting up experiments, and ensuring the laboratory environment is safe and conducive to learning.

Classroom Management
- Creating a Positive Learning Environment: Establishing clear rules and expectations for student behavior in the classroom. Physics teachers should encourage an environment of curiosity and respect where students feel comfortable asking questions and engaging in discussions.
- Engaging Students: Using a variety of teaching techniques, including problem-solving, discussions, and visual aids, to keep students actively engaged in learning.

Encouraging Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving
- Solving Real-world Problems: Physics teachers should encourage students to apply their knowledge to solve real-world problems, using both theoretical and practical methods. This includes applying physics principles to current events, technological innovations, and engineering problems.
- Encouraging Inquiry: Promoting a scientific mindset by encouraging students to ask questions, think critically, and experiment to discover answers to physics-related challenges.

Providing Additional Support
- Tutoring: Offering extra help to students who are struggling with the subject, either through after-school tutoring, small-group work, or one-on-one instruction.
- Enrichment: Providing additional resources or advanced materials for students who excel in physics, helping them explore more complex topics or prepare for higher-level physics coursework.
Desired candidate profile
- A passion for providing outstanding teaching and driven to provide education at an exceptional level. Teachers enjoy an outstanding school environment in which to deliver a dynamic and creative curriculum to motivated students.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
- Teachers are expected to have a current license/certification in their home country with a minimum of 3 years full-time teaching experience.
- Teaching certificate.
- MYP/DP training is preferred
- MYP/DP experience is preferred.
- Experience in teaching TOK is desired.
