Illinois Special Education Teacher: Instructional Classroom Setting
In this role you will be responsible for monitoring and assessing students progress adjusting instructional methods to meet their evolving needs and ensuring a structured classroom environment that fosters safety engagement and learning. You will develop implement and evaluate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs adapting the general education curriculum to accommodate a wide range of abilities. Providing direct instruction in small group or individualized settings you will tailor lessons to align with students specific learning goals.
Furthermore you will apply behavior management strategies in line with school policies and individual behavior plans. Collaboration is key as you will work closely with general education teachers support staff and administration to create an inclusive and supportive environment that encourages both academic and social success for all students.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess a valid Illinois certification in Special Education and demonstrate the ability to differentiate instruction to effectively manage a diverse group of learners. A Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field is required with a Masters degree being preferred. Additionally candidates should have familiarity with the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and a strong understanding of compliance with state and federal regulations.
