Job Description

Adelphi is seeking an Autonomous Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide examinations and preventive health services at a facility in Burkeville Virginia. The ideal candidate will be required to assess patient health problems and needs develop and implement care plans and maintain medical records.

Requirements:

Active VA license

BC/BE

DEA registration

BLS/ACLS

Responsibilities:

Works independently with minimal supervision to perform physical examinations and preventive health measures.

Responds to and initiates care for medical emergencies throughout the facility.

Order and perform diagnostic procedures.

Prescribe controlled substances and devices in accordance with current regulations.

Maintain accurate detailed reports and records.

Provides education to patients healthcare and correctional staff.

Perform care consistent with the scope of licensure and in accordance with the facilitys policies and procedures.

Additional duties as assigned by the facility.
