SpeechLanguage Pathology Assistant (SLPA) Amesbury MA Position Overview: The School is seeking a dedicated and qualified SpeechLanguage Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support the districts SpeechLanguage Pathologists (SLPs) in providing speech and language services to students. This position is essential in helping students improve their communication skills to access the curriculum and participate fully in their educational environment. Key Responsibilities: -
Service Delivery: - Assist SLPs in implementing therapy plans for students with speech and language disorders.
- Provide direct services to students under the supervision of a licensed SpeechLanguage Pathologist.
- Use appropriate tools materials and activities to support speech and language development.

Documentation: - Maintain accurate records of student progress and therapy activities.
- Document sessions as required by the supervising SLP and school policies.

Collaboration: - Work closely with SLPs teachers and other school staff to support students’ communication needs.
- Participate in team meetings as required to discuss student progress and needs.

Support Duties: - Prepare materials and set up for therapy sessions.
- Assist with screenings and assessments under the direction of a licensed SLP.
- Ensure the therapy environment is organized and conducive to learning.

Compliance: - Adhere to district state and federal guidelines related to the provision of speech and language services.
- Follow ethical practices and maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
Qualifications: - Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in SpeechLanguage Pathology Communication Disorders or a related field.
- Certification: Massachusetts SLPA license required.
- Experience: Prior experience working with children in an educational or therapeutic setting is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Knowledge of speech and language developmental milestones.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to sit stand and move freely throughout the school building.
- Capability to work with children in a variety of settings including classrooms and therapy rooms.
