Job Description
This is a highly technical fulltime onsite role supporting customer network operations design deployment and troubleshooting. The engineer will act as a technical lead working directly with customer teams to ensure optimal network performance and the successful integration of advanced networking solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of the customer s organizational structure network implementation and support processes to assist in designing a sustainable and robust network.
- Provide hightouch support for the customers network focusing on the use and integration of advanced networking products with other network elements.
- Support the deployment operation and evolution of network solutions ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Assist in integrating solutions into the customer s business including operational procedures practices and proactive monitoring.
- Test and validate patches and fixes in preproduction environments ensuring proper implementation in live networks as dictated by deployment plans.
- Troubleshoot network and equipment issues participate in critical maintenance windows and manage technical cases through resolution.
- Facilitate hardware RMAs and track issues to resolution.
- Lead workshops with the customer to address network challenges provide updates on technical cases and share solutions and workarounds.
- Contribute to the design and planning of advanced network solutions.
- Peer with colleagues in similar roles to share lessons learned and mitigate risks during major network upgrades or changes.
- Develop secondary skills in other networking products and platforms.
Requirements
Technical Expertise
- Handson experience with IP router installation and operation including network management tools and analyzers.
- Indepth knowledge of networking platforms (ACX is essential; familiarity with MX EX QFX SRX PTX is advantageous).
- Comprehensive understanding of IP service provider networks including protocols like TCP/IP OSPF ISIS BGP4 MPLS VPLS L2/L3 VPNs CoS/QoS and Multicast.
- Strong skills in automation and scripting (Python/SLAX) and orchestration frameworks (Ansible Chef Puppet).
- Familiarity with switching and firewall technologies debugging protocols and testing tools (e.g. IXIA Spirent).
- Handson configuration and operational knowledge of advanced networking solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced certifications such as JNCIE or CCIE.
- Experience with deploying BNG solutions and timing protocols (e.g. PTP).
- Knowledge of automation platforms and RESTful APIs for system integration.
- Experience with additional networking vendors (Cisco Palo Alto Arista).
- Proficiency with multiple operating systems (MacOS Linux Windows).
Experience and Background
- 6 10 years delivering network systems in Telco or Data Center environments with integration into OSS/BSS/IT systems.
- Minimum of 5 years in consultative customerfacing roles.
- Minimum of 7 years in implementation and technical support for networking products in LAN WAN or Internet services environments.
- Minimum of 3 years designing IP networks.
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field.
