Job Description
The Grounds Person position at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is for an individual who is passionate for the mountain environment with a strong desire to perform outdoor work. Work shifts allow those to pursue outdoor recreation while still maintaining the very diverse physically challenging and learning atmosphere the Grounds Department offers. Come as you are!
- Landscaping and upkeep of Grounds and exterior surroundings
- Snow removal mechanical and physical
- Work at height on roofs with rope and safety harness conducting snow removal
- Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the Hotel health and safety program
- Compliance with all Fairmont Environmental policies and programs
- Daily vehicle/equipment operation & maintenance checks
- 40 hour work week 8 or 10 hour shift 4 or 5 days per week
- Must comply with Fairmont grooming policies
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment and actively participate in health and safety initiatives
- Adhere to all hotel environmental policies and initiatives
- Carry out any other tasks as assigned
Qualifications :
- Mandatory valid Alberta class 5 drivers license or equivalent
- Mandatory drivers abstract certifying clean driving record
- Previous landscaping and Grounds maintenance experience is an asset
- Previous skidsteer operation experience winter / summer seasons is an asset
- Experience operating a plow truck loader and other snow removal equipment is an asset
- Displays initiative and productivity
- Must possess safe work habits with an awareness of safe work procedures regarding hazardous products chemicals tools and equipment
- Ability to move heavy objects
- Lifting and Carrying 4466 lbs
- Pushing and Pulling 75 lbs
- Bending kneeling and repetitive tasks/movements
- Working in variety of Mountain weather conditions
- Selfmotivated with the ability to make effective decisions
- Demonstrates initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain high service levels under pressure
- Physically fit to lift trays repeatedly stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to consistently stand and walk through out shift
