Job Summary:
The Safety Supervisor for a real estate firm is responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of all construction and development projects. This includes overseeing safety practices at construction sites conducting inspections ensuring compliance with local and national safety regulations and providing training to staff and contractors. The role focuses on minimizing risks and preventing accidents across various real estate development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Safety Management:
- Oversee safety operations at multiple real estate development and construction sites.
- Ensure that safety standards and protocols are followed by all workers contractors and visitors at the site.
Risk Assessment & Hazard Prevention:
- Conduct sitespecific risk assessments and identify potential hazards during the construction and development phases.
- Implement corrective actions to address hazards and ensure a safe working environment for all site personnel.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) local building codes and other relevant safety regulations specific to construction and real estate.
- Work with municipal inspectors and regulatory bodies during site visits and audits.
Safety Inspections & Audits:
- Perform regular safety inspections on construction sites ensuring that safety measures equipment and emergency protocols are in place and being followed.
- Document all safety violations and follow up to ensure timely corrective actions.
Incident Investigation & Reporting:
- Investigate any safetyrelated incidents accidents or nearmisses on construction sites.
- Prepare detailed reports of incidents and recommend preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
Employee & Contractor Training:
- Conduct regular safety training sessions for employees contractors and subcontractors.
- Provide training on the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) emergency procedures scaffolding safety fall protection and other constructionrelated safety practices.
Construction Equipment & Safety Gear:
- Ensure that all construction equipment and machinery are properly maintained and safe to use.
- Verify that workers are equipped with appropriate PPE and that safety gear is compliant with regulations.
- Emergency Preparedness:
- Develop and implement emergency evacuation plans for construction sites.
- Coordinate emergency response drills and ensure that all workers are aware of the procedures in case of an accident or hazardous situation.
- RecordKeeping & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of all safety audits inspections incidents and training sessions.
- Prepare safety reports and metrics for management highlighting key areas of improvement or concern.
- Collaboration with Project Teams:
- Collaborate with project managers architects engineers and other stakeholders to integrate safety considerations into project planning and design.
- Provide safety input during project meetings and ensure that safety measures are aligned with construction timelines.
Key Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor s degree in Occupational Health and Safety Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
- Certifications: Safety certifications such as OSHA 30hour Construction NEBOSH or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) are highly desirable.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in safety supervision specifically in the real estate or construction industry.
