Job Description

Overview:

The Ophthalmologist Phaco Surgeon and Retina Surgeon plays a crucial role in providing specialized medical and surgical care for patients with ophthalmic conditions. They are responsible for performing phacoemulsification procedures diagnosing and treating retinal diseases and ensuring comprehensive eye care for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting comprehensive eye examinations and medical history reviews
  • Performing phacoemulsification surgeries with precision and expertise
  • Diagnosing and managing retinal diseases and conditions
  • Providing postoperative care and followup consultations for surgical patients
  • Utilizing advanced imaging and diagnostic tools for precise analysis
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Participating in clinical research and academic activities related to ophthalmology
  • Staying updated with the latest advancements in ophthalmic surgical techniques
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and ethical practices
  • Managing and overseeing ophthalmology clinics and surgical facilities

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
  • Residency training in Ophthalmology from an accredited program
  • Fellowship training in Retina Surgery
  • Board certification in Ophthalmology
  • Licensure to practice medicine as an Ophthalmologist in the relevant location
  • Demonstrated expertise in phacoemulsification and cataract surgery
  • Proven experience in diagnosing and treating retinal diseases and conditions
  • Strong surgical skills and proficiency in utilizing ophthalmic surgical instruments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interactions
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
  • Keen attention to detail and strong clinical judgment
  • Adherence to medical ethics and patient confidentiality
  • Understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and handle a high caseload
