Overview
The SAP SD Consultant plays a crucial role in implementing and optimizing the Sales and Distribution modules within the SAP ecosystem. With a focus on enhancing business processes this position ensures that the functionalities of SAP SD align seamlessly with the organizational goals. The consultant will work closely with crossfunctional teams including sales logistics and IT to gather requirements customize solutions and support endusers. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills as well as a deep understanding of sales processes and distribution logistics.
This role is vital for organizations looking to maximize their SAP investment by streamlining processes improving data accuracy and enhancing customer satisfaction. As a conduit between business needs and technical execution the SAP SD Consultant must demonstrate exceptional analytical and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and drive effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct workshops to gather and analyze business requirements related to the Sales and Distribution module.
- Configure SAP SD settings according to organizational requirements and industry best practices.
- Develop and execute test cases to ensure system functionality meets specifications.
- Support data migration activities from legacy systems to SAP SD.
- Facilitate enduser training and create userfriendly documentation.
- Participate in process integration activities with other SAP modules like MM and PP.
- Troubleshoot SDrelated issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to streamline sales and distribution processes.
- Monitor system performance and implement enhancements as necessary.
- Stay updated on SAP SD enhancements and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
- Conduct regular project meetings to report on progress and gather feedback.
- Assist in preparing project documentation and reports.
- Involved in system upgrades and patch management.
- Act as a liaison between business units and IT teams to facilitate communication.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
- 4 to 15 years of handson experience in SAP SD module implementation and support.
- Strong understanding of endtoend sales processes and distribution logistics.
- Proficient in SAP SD configuration including pricing order management and shipping.
- Experience with integration points between SD and other SAP modules.
- Knowledge of SAP best practices and industry standards.
- Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in teams.
- Experience in data migration and data cleansing activities.
- Ability to create detailed documentation and training materials.
- Experience with project lifecycle methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall.
- Certifications in SAP SD or related areas would be an advantage.
- Strong user support and training skills.
- Familiarity with custom developments and enhancements in SAP SD.
- Willingness to travel for projectrelated activities as required.
