Job Description
Overview
The SAP PS (Project Systems) Consultant plays a pivotal role in organizations that rely on SAP for managing and controlling projects. This position is integral to ensuring the effective use of SAP Project Systems functions in both operational and strategic capacities enabling project managers to execute projects efficiently while aligning with best practices. The consultant is responsible for designing implementing and optimizing project management processes within the SAP environment facilitating timely decisionmaking and resource optimization. As a key advisor the SAP PS Consultant collaborates with crossfunctional teams to enhance project performance provide training and support while also ensuring data integrity and compliance with SAP standards. This role not only contributes to effective project execution but also significantly enhances overall organizational efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and gather project requirements to configure SAP PS modules effectively.
- Implement SAP PS solutions tailored to meet business needs and objectives.
- Support all stages of project lifecycle from initiation to closing.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of SAP PS configurations.
- Conduct enduser training sessions to facilitate smooth adoption of SAP systems.
- Collaborate closely with project managers to ensure alignment of project plans with organizational strategy.
- Perform data migration from legacy systems to SAP PS module accurately.
- Identify performance gaps and recommend improvement initiatives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SAP PS functionalities.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external auditing requirements related to project management.
- Facilitate system updates and enhancements based on user feedback and emerging best practices.
- Support integration efforts with other SAP modules (FI CO MM).
- Stay current with SAP PS trends and advancements to provide expert advice.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and communication throughout all project phases.
- Assist in preparing reports and presentations for project updates to management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science Business Administration or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in SAP PS consulting or relevant roles.
- Strong knowledge of SAP PS modules functionalities and project management practices.
- Experience in fullcycle SAP implementations is preferred.
- Proficiency in data migration techniques and tools relevant to SAP.
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies is beneficial.
- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong technical documentation skills.
- Willingness to travel as necessary for project work.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
