Detailed Recruitment Checklist for Paid Ads Executive
  1. Position Details
  • Position: Paid Ads Executive
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years

  1. Candidate Qualification Criteria
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in paid advertising.
  • Proven track record with Meta Ads (Facebook Instagram) and Google Ads.
  • Must have at least 1 year of experience in an agency environment.
  1. Technical Skills Assessment
  • Meta Ads and Google Ads Expertise:
  • Ask for specific examples of campaigns they have managed (e.g. ecommerce lead generation brand awareness).
  • Ask the candidate to describe the process of setting up a Meta Ads campaign including audience targeting ad creatives bidding strategy and optimization.
  • For Google Ads ask them to walk through setting up search display and YouTube campaigns and how they approach keyword research ad copywriting and bid management.
  • Performance Metrics:
  • Expect them to explain how they track and report on campaign performance (e.g. CPM CPC CTR ROAS conversion rate).
  • Ask how they optimize underperforming campaigns. Look for responses that include strategies like A/B testing changing audience segments or modifying creatives.
  • Familiarity with Ad Platforms:
  • Ask which tools and platforms they use for managing ads (e.g. Facebook Ads Manager Google Ads Dashboard).
  • Expect them to be familiar with at least one thirdparty tool for reporting or analytics (e.g. Google Analytics SEMrush or HubSpot).
  • Experience with Budgets:
  • Ask about the largest and smallest budgets they ve managed and the strategies they used to maximize results within those budgets.
  • Expect them to explain how they plan and allocate ad budgets across different channels and campaigns.
  • Campaign Optimization & ProblemSolving:
  • Pose a hypothetical scenario: If a lead generation campaign isn t converting despite a high CTR what steps would you take to troubleshoot and optimize it
  • Look for a structured approach: examining landing pages reassessing audience segmentation adjusting creatives and testing ad placements.
  • Tools & Software Knowledge:
  • Verify familiarity with Google Analytics Pixel setup conversion tracking and UTM tracking.
