Overview

The Counseling Optometrist position at our Eye Hospital in Ghaziabad Uttar Pradesh is essential for providing outstanding patient care and contributing to the overall mission of our organization. This role requires a BSc in Optometry and encompasses both clinical assessments and patient counseling to ensure that individuals receive the best eye care and education about their visual health. As the bridge between patients and the healthcare team the Counseling Optometrist will be responsible for understanding patient needs explaining treatment options and ensuring that patients feel comfortable and informed. The importance of this position cannot be overstated as effective counseling leads to improved patient outcomes adherence to treatment plans and ultimately better visual health for the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and assessments.
  • Perform diagnostic testing to evaluate visual functions.
  • Provide patient education on eye conditions and treatment options.
  • Develop individualized care plans based on patient needs.
  • Assist in contact lens fittings and patient followup.
  • Collaborate with ophthalmologists and healthcare staff.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in optometry.
  • Address patient concerns and questions effectively.
  • Promote preventive eye care practices among patients.
  • Participate in community outreach and eye health education programs.
  • Advise patients on proper eye care regimens posttreatment.
  • Manage patient flow and clinic scheduling efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with health regulations and protocols.
  • Contribute to internal training programs for junior staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Optometry (BSc Optometry).
  • Valid optometry license to practice in Uttar Pradesh.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience working in a clinical or hospital setting.
  • Basic understanding of optical instruments and technologies.
  • Ability to manage patient concerns with empathy.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
  • Knowledge of prevalent ocular conditions and their management.
  • Critical thinking and decisionmaking abilities.
  • Willingness to participate in continuous education and training.
  • Strong organizational skills with a detailoriented approach.
  • Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Flexibility in adapting to changing priorities.
  • Commitment to patientcentered care practices.
  • Fluency in English and Hindi preferred.
