Overview
The MD DNB Internal Medicine Consultant plays a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive medical care to patients emphasizing the management of adult diseases. This position is critical in identifying diagnosing and treating a wide range of health conditions providing a continuum of care that enhances patient outcomes and promotes a healthfocused community. Located in Nashik Maharashtra the consultant works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient management. The consultant is responsible for educating patients and families about health maintenance and disease prevention while also conducting thorough assessments and interventions for complex medical conditions. This role requires a deep understanding of internal medicine alongside procedural skills and the capacity for leadership within a clinical setting. It also necessitates a commitment to ongoing professional development and quality improvement initiatives within the practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Manage a broad spectrum of internal medicine cases ensuring high standards of care.
- Collaborate with specialists and healthcare providers for integrated patient care.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment modalities as necessary.
- Educate patients about their health conditions and preventive care strategies.
- Conduct routine and diagnostic tests as needed for patient evaluation.
- Participate in weekly case reviews and clinical meetings to discuss patient care.
- Stay updated on the latest internal medicine practices and guidelines.
- Facilitate hospital admissions and discharges efficiently.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior medical staff and interns.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards in patient care.
- Document patient encounters accurately in electronic health records.
- Engage in continued medical education and professional development activities.
- Assist in crisis intervention and emergency care when necessary.
- Participate in community health initiatives and outreach programs.
Required Qualifications
- MBBS degree from a recognized institution.
- MD DNB in Internal Medicine.
- Valid medical license to practice in Maharashtra.
- Minimum 25 years of relevant clinical experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Experience in conducting patient education programs.
- Familiarity with current clinical guidelines and best practices.
- Capable of performing basic and advanced medical procedures.
- Commitment to patientcentered care and quality improvement.
- Ability to handle highstress situations effectively.
- Willingness to participate in research or clinical trials.
- Proactive in continuous learning and professional growth.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
