Job Description
Overview
The Eye Counselor plays a crucial role in the patient care experience at our eye hospital focusing on educating patients about lenses and ensuring a high conversion ratio during the counseling and sales process. This position requires a blend of clinical knowledge of ocular products and strong interpersonal skills to assist patients in making informed choices regarding their visual health. As an Eye Counselor you will be responsible for consulting with patients understanding their needs and guiding them through the available lens options. Your ability to connect with patients provide detailed product information and effectively communicate the benefits of various lens solutions will significantly impact patient satisfaction and hospital revenue. You ll work closely with ophthalmologists and optometrists ensuring that each patient s individual vision requirements are met with the highest standard of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients visual needs and preferences.
- Educate patients about different lens options and their benefits.
- Utilize sales techniques to engage patients and promote products.
- Maintain knowledge of current eye care products and technology.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure seamless patient care.
- Prepare and present informative presentations to patients.
- Address patient inquiries and resolve any concerns effectively.
- Assist in converting consultations into sales through effective communication.
- Document patient interactions and update records accurately.
- Monitor patient satisfaction and seek feedback for improvements.
- Train new staff on counseling techniques and product knowledge.
- Organize and lead educational workshops for patients and staff.
- Stay updated on industry trends and product advancements.
- Implement strategies to increase patient conversion rates.
- Perform followups with patients to ensure postconsultation support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Optometry Vision Science or related field.
- Previous experience in an eye care setting is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of lens products and optical terminologies.
- Strong sales and customer service background.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Detailoriented and strong organizational skills.
- Proficient in using electronic health record systems.
- Capability to manage multiple patients and tasks simultaneously.
- Understanding of insurance policies related to eye care services.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development.
- Flexible schedule and availability for varied shifts.
- Strong problemsolving abilities with a customercentric approach.
- Knowledge of current healthcare regulations and compliance.
- Fluency in multiple languages is an advantage.
