Job Summary:
The Billing Engineer will be responsible for preparing monitoring and managing billing activities for real estate construction projects. This role requires close collaboration with project teams contractors and suppliers to ensure accurate and timely billing cost control and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of quantity surveying project costing and financial documentation within the construction or real estate sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Billing and Invoicing:
- Prepare and manage bills invoices and work certifications based on project progress.
- Ensure that all billing is in alignment with project budgets contracts and purchase orders.
- Review and verify contractor and supplier invoices for accuracy.
- Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
- Assist in preparing budget estimates for new projects considering materials labor and other direct costs.
- Work with project teams to finalize cost estimates and project budgets.
- Project Tracking and Progress Measurement:
- Conduct site visits to measure and verify completed work at various project stages.
- Maintain records of work progress and ensure all billing aligns with actual work completed.
- Cost Control and Analysis:
- Track project expenses and compare them against budget estimates.
- Identify and report any cost overruns or potential savings opportunities to the management.
- Provide recommendations to optimize project costs without affecting quality.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain detailed records and documentation for audits including purchase orders receipts contracts and projectrelated financial records.
- Ensure all documentation complies with company policies and industry standards.
- Coordination and Communication:
- Work closely with project managers site engineers and the finance team to ensure accurate and timely billing.
- Liaise with contractors subcontractors and suppliers to resolve billing issues and discrepancies.
- Reporting:
- Prepare regular financial and billing reports to keep management informed of the project s financial health.
- Provide insights into any financial risks associated with ongoing projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Billing Engineer preferably in real estate or construction.
- Proficiency in billing software and financial management tools such as ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of project costing quantity surveying and financial documentation.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to construction billing and documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project management software.
- Certification in project management or cost engineering is a plus.
