Overview
The Infant Care Assistant at our Preschool is crucial in creating a nurturing and supportive environment for infants. This position is vital for providing care supervision and early education to our youngest learners. The ideal candidate will assist in daily activities that stimulate cognitive and physical development while ensuring safety and emotional wellbeing. As a fundamental part of our education team the Infant Care Assistant will foster a love for learning and help to guide the children through their formative years. This role requires a compassionate and dedicated individual capable of working closely with parents and educators to promote a collaborative approach to child development. Through engaging with infants in various activities the Assistant will help to lay the foundation for lifelong learning and social skills ensuring a positive and enriching experience for both the children and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and care for infants during playtime and activities.
- Implement educational activities that promote physical emotional and social development.
- Monitor the health and safety of infants and address any issues promptly.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding infant progress and daily activities.
- Assist in diaper changing feeding and other personal care needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in compliance with health regulations.
- Encourage positive interactions among children to develop social skills.
- Collaborate with lead educators to create and adapt lesson plans.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development sessions.
- Keep records of infant development and activities as required.
- Help organize and participate in special events and activities.
- Foster a love for learning through playful engagement.
- Implement health and safety protocols effectively.
- Support transitions for infants between various activities throughout the day.
- Respond to emergencies and provide first aid when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Any Graduation
- Certification in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Previous experience working with infants in a daycare or preschool setting.
- Strong understanding of child development principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to handle challenging situations with a calm demeanor.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
- Patience and a nurturing attitude towards children.
- Willingness to partake in background checks and health screenings.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends.
