Overview
The Odoo Functional Developer plays a critical role in our organization by enhancing business operations through effective implementation and customization of the Odoo ERP system. This position requires an indepth understanding of business processes and the ability to translate those needs into functional specifications and system enhancements. An Odoo Functional Developer collaborates closely with stakeholders to gather requirements configure the Odoo platform and ensure that the final product meets the strategic objectives of our company. By developing and customizing modules and workflows this role significantly improves efficiency reduces operational costs and contributes to better resource management. With a focus on continuous improvement the Odoo Functional Developer also provides support and training to endusers facilitating a seamless transition to the Odoo ecosystem. Overall this position is vital in driving technological innovation and ensuring that our organization maximizes the potential of its ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement Odoo modules and functionalities based on project requirements.
- Customize existing Odoo modules to align with business processes.
- Conduct needs analysis and gather requirements from stakeholders.
- Collaborate with project managers and other developers to ensure project alignment.
- Create technical documentation for developed features and customizations.
- Perform data migration and system integration tasks.
- Provide technical training and support to endusers.
- Conduct system testing and validation to verify functionality.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Stay updated on Odoo s latest features and upgrades to leverage new capabilities.
- Coordinate with the IT team for system maintenance and updates.
- Implement security measures to protect sensitive data within the ERP system.
- Participate in project meetings to provide updates and gather feedback.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals and technical specifications.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements of IT processes and practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with Odoo ERP development.
- Proficiency in Python programming and ORM frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL or other SQL databases.
- Experience with API development and integration.
- Familiarity with frontend technologies like HTML CSS and JavaScript.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and analytical thinking.
- Proven ability to work in a teamoriented environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Experience in requirements gathering and business analysis.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle and methodologies.
- Ability to create detailed documentation for technical processes.
- Exposure to project management tools is a plus.
- Prior experience in a similar role within a consulting firm is a plus.
