Job Description

Overview:


As a Consultant Radiologist you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by providing specialized medical imaging services. Your expertise in interpreting and analyzing medical images will be essential in assisting healthcare providers in making accurate diagnoses and developing treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Performing and interpreting diagnostic imaging procedures such as Xrays CT scans MRIs and ultrasounds
  • Collaborating with other medical professionals to determine the most effective imaging procedures for specific diagnoses
  • Evaluating the quality and accuracy of imaging results to ensure diagnostic efficacy
  • Communicating with patients to explain imaging procedures and address any concerns or questions
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases and treatment plans
  • Keeping abreast of advancements in radiology technology and techniques
  • Supervising and training radiology technicians and other support staff
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols in the radiology department
  • Contributing to research and academic initiatives in the field of radiology
  • Providing expert opinions and consultations to referring physicians
  • Participating in departmental and institutional quality improvement activities
  • Managing and maintaining medical imaging equipment and resources
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of imaging protocols and best practices
  • Participating in oncall and weekend coverage as required

Required Qualifications:


  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • Board certification or eligibility in diagnostic radiology
  • State medical license and/or eligibility for licensure
  • Fellowship training in radiology subspecialty (e.g. neuroradiology musculoskeletal imaging interventional radiology)
  • Extensive experience in interpreting various imaging modalities
  • Strong clinical acumen and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
  • Proven leadership and organizational capabilities
  • Proficiency in using radiology information systems and picture archiving and communication systems (RIS/PACS)
  • Knowledge of radiation safety principles and practices
  • Publication record and active participation in radiology conferences and societies
  • Commitment to ethical and evidencebased practice
