The Cloud Infrastructure Lead role is responsible for managing and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure in the sites. These will include: installing upgrades troubleshooting and installation of hardware servers cabling components and accessories in compliance to the organizations standards; installing configuring testing and maintaining operating systems application software and system management tools to proactively ensure the highest level of systems and infrastructure availability and connectivity; creating planning and implementing detailed deployment designs as well as maintaining technical implementation documentation on existing services and systems.
Qualifications :
Education & Certificates:
- Bachelors degree in computer science computer software/computer systems engineering computer systems and networks electrical/electronic engineering mathematics network security management; Masters or postgraduate degree is a plus
- Cloud Certifications: Possessing cloud certifications from major cloud service providers like AWS Azure or Google Cloud Platform can be highly beneficial. Some relevant certifications include:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
Technical Skills:
- Cloud Services: Proficiency in using and managing cloud services from one or more major cloud providers (AWS Azure GCP).
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Knowledge of IaC tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation for automating infrastructure provisioning.
- Containerization and Orchestration: Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
- Networking: Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts including VPCs subnets security groups and load balancers.
- Security: Knowledge of cloud security best practices and tools for securing cloud environments.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience as a cloud engineer or related role and 2 years supervising junior level engineers
- Leading and managing a team of cloud professionals.
- Implementing and overseeing cloud infrastructure projects.
- Developing and implementing cloud strategies aligned with the organizations goals.
- Evaluating and selecting cloud services and technologies.
- Managing budgets and optimizing cloud costs.
- Ensuring cloud security and compliance.
- Collaborating with other departments to meet business objectives.
- Staying uptodate with emerging cloud technologies and trends.
- Demonstrated knowledge of network topologies and implementations (e.g. VPN LAN WAN Wireless)
- Experience as technical lead for a major technology implementation
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of IT network design and governance
