Overview
The Hostess plays a vital role in creating an inviting atmosphere for patrons upon their arrival at a dining establishment. Acting as the face of the restaurant the Hostess is responsible for managing reservations greeting guests with a warm welcome and ensuring a seamless dining experience. In addition to seating customers this position involves coordinating with the kitchen and service staff to maintain efficient operation flow. Excellent communication skills and a strong customer service orientation are essential as the Hostess will interact with guests and provide them with necessary information about menu options and services. The Hostesss efforts contribute significantly to guest satisfaction and retention making this role essential in maintaining the restaurants reputation and success.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant.
- Manage reservations and ensure efficient seating arrangements.
- Maintain an organized waitlist and communicate wait times to guests.
- Provide menus and take initial drink orders when appropriate.
- Ensure the waiting area is clean and inviting for guests.
- Work closely with the service team to ensure timely seating and service for guests.
- Monitor dining room flow and adjust seating arrangements as necessary.
- Handle guest complaints and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
- Maintain knowledge of the restaurants menu specials and promotions.
- Collaborate with other team members to provide an outstanding dining experience.
- Participate in team meetings to improve service quality.
- Shift of 11 hours including breaks.
Required Qualifications
- High school and IHM Diploma required for this position.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
- Proficient in using reservation management software.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate with others.
