Job Description
POSITION: CTL Machine Operator (CRGO Industry)
Location: VILAS TRANSCORE LIMITED ( VADODARA GUJARAT)
Job Summary:
The CTL Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the Cut to Length (CTL) machine in the CRGO steel processing unit. The primary objective is to ensure the precise cutting of CRGO coils into flat sheets of specific lengths and widths while maintaining the highest standards of quality safety and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications: DIPLOMA / BE IN MECHANICAL ENGINEER .
Experience: Minimum 23 years of experience operating CTL machines in the CRGO or metal processing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate the CTL machine to cut CRGO steel coils into flat sheets as per production specifications.
- Ensure correct machine parameters are set for optimal performance such as speed length and tension.
- Monitor the machine during operation adjusting settings as necessary to ensure accurate cuts and optimal quality.
- Inspect cut steel sheets for defects ensuring they meet the required specifications (thickness width flatness).
- Measure and verify that the length of the cut sheets conforms to the design specifications.
- Conduct visual and physical inspections to identify any irregularities or defects in the steel.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure that all safety guards and equipment are functioning correctly.
- Perform regular machine checks and preventive maintenance to ensure continuous operation.
- Report any machine malfunctions damage or performance issues to the maintenance team
- Safely handle and transfer CRGO coils and cut sheets using lifting equipment or hoists.
- Ensure proper stacking and storage of cut sheets to avoid damage and contamination.
- Track material usage and maintain inventory records for coils and finished sheets.
- Assist in optimizing production processes to improve machine efficiency reduce downtime and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to improve cutting accuracy and machine uptime.
- Maintain accurate production records including machine settings production numbers and material usage.
- Report any deviations or quality issues during production runs.
- Document routine maintenance activities machine performance and corrective actions take
- Work closely with other operators quality control personnel and maintenance teams to ensure smooth production flow.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding production targets machine performance and material requirements.
