Job Description
Overview
The ServiceNow Developer plays a pivotal role in the development and enhancement of ServiceNow applications and modules within the organization. This position requires a strong understanding of the ServiceNow platform IT service management (ITSM) practices and an ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. The ServiceNow Developer collaborates closely with stakeholders including project managers IT teams and endusers to define design and develop technical specifications while ensuring efficient performance of existing applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in configuring and customizing ServiceNow modules integrating thirdparty applications and providing technical support for ServiceNowrelated initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design develop and maintain ServiceNow applications and modules.
- Gather and analyze business requirements to create functional specifications.
- Customize ServiceNow applications by developing and modifying system scripts.
- Integrate thirdparty applications and data sources into ServiceNow.
- Perform upgrades and enhancements to existing ServiceNow applications.
- Utilize REST and SOAP APIs for integration tasks.
- Provide technical support for ServiceNow functionalities.
- Conduct system testing to ensure quality and performance standards.
- Document technical specifications and process flows.
- Participate in Agile development processes and sprint planning.
- Collaborate with IT teams for effective implementation of changes.
- Manage version control and deployment processes.
- Train endusers on ServiceNow functionalities as needed.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.
- Stay updated with the latest ServiceNow features and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in ServiceNow development and administration.
- Strong knowledge of the ServiceNow platform including ServiceNow modules.
- Proficiency in JavaScript HTML XML and other web technologies.
- Experience with databases SQL and data management.
- Understanding of ITIL framework and IT service management processes.
- Keen problemsolving and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience using version control tools (e.g. Git).
- Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- ServiceNow certifications (e.g. Certified Application Developer) preferred.
- Experience with ServiceNow Discovery and Orchestration is a plus.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and skills as needed.
- Strong commitment to improving user experience and business efficiency.
