Overview
The Ab Initio Developer plays a crucial role in the organization by designing and implementing data integration solutions using the Ab Initio ETL tool. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop ETL processes using Ab Initio tools to meet business requirements.
- Collaborate with data stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Optimize existing ETL processes for performance and efficiency.
- Ensure data quality through rigorous testing and validation of data transformations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data integration issues across multiple systems.
- Develop detailed technical documentation for ETL processes and data flows.
- Implement data models and database designs in collaboration with data architects.
- Monitor ETL process execution and manage system performance.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Continuously research and recommend best practices for data integration.
- Develop Unix/Linux scripts for automation of data processes.
- Work with BI teams to support data extraction transformation and reporting.
- Stay updated with the latest Ab Initio features and enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
- Provide support and training to junior developers and team members.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
- 5 years of experience in data integration and ETL development.
- Proficiency in Ab Initio ETL tool and related components.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
- Experience with data modeling and data warehouse concepts.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems and scripting.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex data issues.
- Experience in performance tuning of ETL processes.
- Understanding of data governance and data security principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with version control systems like Git or SVN.
- Project management experience is a plus.
