Senior Hairstylist Job Description
The Senior Hairstylist plays a pivotal role in our salon providing highquality services to clients while leading a team of stylists. This position demands a deep understanding of current hair trends and techniques along with exceptional customer service skills. As a Senior Hairstylist you will not only be responsible for delivering outstanding haircuts color treatments and styling but also for mentoring junior stylists ensuring that they develop their skills in a supportive and innovative environment. Your expertise will not only enhance client satisfaction but will also contribute to the overall reputation and success of the salon. By combining technical skills with leadership abilities the Senior Hairstylist will ensure a seamless experience for clients from consultation to final look fostering lasting relationships and driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a variety of hair services including cutting coloring and styling.
- Assist clients in choosing hairstyles that best complement their features and lifestyles.
- Stay informed about the latest trends in hairstyles and techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for clients.
- Train and mentor junior stylists in techniques and best practices.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients to encourage repeat visits.
- Consult with clients about their hair care needs and recommend products.
- Manage appointment schedules and ensure timely service delivery.
- Conduct hair treatments and provide aftercare advice.
- Collaborate with other salon team members to enhance service offerings.
- Participate in salon promotions and marketing initiatives.
- Monitor inventory and order supplies as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding their preferences and concerns.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Demonstrate effective customer service by resolving client complaints and issues.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of cosmetology school preferred.
- State cosmetology license.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a hairstylist.
- Proven experience in advanced haircutting and coloring techniques.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of hairstyles and techniques.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and mentor junior staff.
- Knowledge of hair care products and tools.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for hair styling.
- Creativity and willingness to experiment with new styles.
- Basic understanding of salon management principles.
- Ability to handle highpressure situations with professionalism.
