Job Description
Overview
The Teradata position is pivotal within our organization as it focuses on optimizing data management and analysis using Teradata technologies. The role involves designing implementing and maintaining Teradata systems to support datadriven decisionmaking. This professional will leverage their expertise in SQL and data warehousing to ensure that our data repositories are robust efficient and scalable. Key Responsibilities
- Design implement and maintain Teradata systems to meet business requirements.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries for efficient data retrieval and manipulation.
- Conduct system performance tuning and troubleshooting to enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with data architects to design data models and visualizations.
- Implement ETL processes for smooth data integration from multiple sources.
- Ensure data quality through validation and cleansing procedures.
- Monitor and manage system resources and capacity planning.
- Create documentation for system processes architecture and methodologies.
- Provide support for endusers and address their datarelated queries.
- Work with business intelligence tools to fulfill reporting requirements.
- Participate in data governance initiatives and maintain compliance standards.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior staff members on Teradata technologies.
- Evaluate new Teradata features and assess their applicability to the organization.
- Coordinate with crossfunctional teams to ensure integrity of data architecture.
- Stay updated with industry trends to incorporate best practices into operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Teradata systems.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and data query languages.
- Experience in data warehousing solutions and methodologies.
- Familiarity with ETL tools and processes.
- Understanding of data modeling concepts and practices.
- Background in performance tuning and system optimization.
- Knowledge of business intelligence and analytics tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with data governance and regulatory compliance is a plus.
- Certifications in Teradata or related technologies are advantageous.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
