Overview
The MSBI Developer plays a pivotal role in designing developing and maintaining Business Intelligence solutions by utilizing Microsoft Business Intelligence (MSBI) tools. In todays datadriven landscape effective decisionmaking hinges on robust data insights making this role essential in transforming raw data into actionable intelligence. The MSBI Developer is responsible for extracting transforming and loading data from various sources into data warehouses ensuring data integrity and performance. By leveraging SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) the MSBI Developer enables organizations to drive business growth through data analysis and reporting. With a keen ability to collaborate with crossfunctional teams they support the analytical needs of stakeholders and ensure that the BI systems perform optimally. Overall this role is critical for fostering a datacentric culture across the organization enhancing business strategies and supporting informed decisionmaking.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop data warehouses that support BI initiatives.
- Implement ETL processes using SSIS to load data from various sources.
- Create interactive and visually appealing reports using SSRS.
- Develop and maintain data models using SSAS.
- Write complex SQL queries to extract and manipulate data.
- Ensure data quality and integrity throughout all BI processes.
- Optimize performance of existing databases and reports.
- Collaborate with business users to gather requirements for reporting.
- Perform data profiling and analysis to support data governance.
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies and issues promptly.
- Maintain documentation related to BI designs and processes.
- Train and support endusers on BI solutions and reporting tools.
- Monitor and troubleshoot BI system performance issues.
- Work closely with IT teams to ensure proper deployment of BI solutions.
- Stay updated with the latest MSBI technologies and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in MSBI development.
- Strong experience with SQL Server and TSQL queries.
- Proficiency in SSIS for ETL development.
- Experience with reporting solutions using SSRS.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and methodologies.
- Familiarity with SSAS for OLAP and data modeling.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools is a plus.
- Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Experience in performance tuning and optimization.
- Handson experience with version control systems (e.g. Git).
- Understanding of business intelligence trends and analytics.
- Certifications in MSBI or related tools are an advantage.
- Experience in Agile or other development methodologies is a plus.
