Senior Network Engineer Location: Plano TX (OnSite) Travel to other facilities is possible but likely minimal Job Type: Long Term Contract Interview: 60 minutes via Zoom video Should be local to Plano TX Duties & Responsibilities The Network Administrator is responsible for all phases of network infrastructure including configuration implementation and troubleshooting. Support of users Help Desk and System team members while serving as the escalation point for infrastructure issues. Perform enterprise network security operations and support wired and wireless connectivity.
- Implement network design and security requirements based on business strategies and requirements. Meets with the stakeholders to gather data about the business needs of a project.
- Work with the Sr. Network Engineer developing requirements for LAN WAN VPN Wireless routers switches firewalls and related security and network devices.
- Implement network technologies meeting best practices in security and network design. Configure install and troubleshoot new and existing infrastructure to support the enterprise. Escalate technical troubleshooting issues.
- Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Update job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging security practices and standards participating in educational opportunities reading professional publications maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.
Preferred/Required Skills & Experience - CCNA CCNP Preferred
- 5 years of professional network engineering handson experience in a medium to large organization of 1000 employees spread across large geographic areas.
- Work experience in supporting network infrastructure.
- Demonstrated operations experience with complex routed IP networks layer two/three switches advanced routers firewalls LAN/WAN networking hardware and protocols.
- Must have Strong IP data networking knowledge with practical network troubleshooting experience.
- Experience in supporting multisite data and VOIP in an SDWAN/IWAN environment.
- Expertise in IP LAN/WAN principles.
- Proven experience with voice/data circuits and VPN connectivity.
- Familiar with video conferencing wireless technologies Datacenter technology experience with Cisco Nexus switches and familiarity with VMWare Virtualization technologies and network storage protocols.
- Working understanding of routing protocols BGP and OSPF
- Packet capture and analysis.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
- Must successfully manage multiple tasks while prioritizing workload with attention to detail to meet deadlines. Afterhours availability and oncall rotation are required on an asneeded basis.

The Network Analyst should have working experience with the following or equivalent technologies. - Experience working with diverse carrier circuits MPLS DIA T1 broadband satellite and Cellular circuits.
- Cisco Catalyst Switch family () for campus LAN switches. And Nexus 5K and 9K for Core switching and SAN connectivity.
- Devices to support SDWAN infrastructure and configurations
- S2S VPN and remote user connectivity through AnyConnect
- Cisco Firepower and Palo Alto firewalls IPS Security Intelligence.
- Support security technologies such as Dot1x Cisco ISE Tacacs Umbrella/OpenDNS Carbon Black for endpoints and SumoLogic.
- Experience with cabling and device installation.
- Wireless Preferred Aruba wireless.
- Monitoring tools such as Solarwinds NPM SAM IPAM NCM and LEM
Environmental & Physical Demand Work will primarily be conducted in an office environment; travel may be required to district and field offices and oil and gas production facilities with the occasional need to wear personal protective equipment. The position requires communicating information frequently and managing an office environments possible stress. Work may include being stationary for long periods with occasional movement about the office. The ability to lift to 35 pounds is required. The position requires constant operation and viewing of a computer screen and other office machinery.
