Job Description
1. Performs general tests in all laboratory areas including blood banking chemistry hematology immunology and microbiology under the supervision of a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
2. Performs and records preventative maintenance on lab instrumentation and identifies problems with lab equipment.
3. Validates laboratory test data enters date into LIS system and reviews it for completeness and accuracy.
4. Report data to Physicians Infection Control and regulatory agencies as required.
5. Performs quality control calibrations and validations on test assays.
6. Performs specimen collection handling processing and storage per regulations.
7. Evaluates specimens quality for testing and troubleshoots deviations.
8. Participates in QA and QI projects and collects data.
9. Assists with training and education of lab assistants and waived testing personnel.
