Job Description
Job Title: Data Modeler(US Citizens only)
Location: Remote
We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications:
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain conceptual logical and physical data models to support database systems and data warehouses.
- Analyze business requirements data sources and existing database systems to create models that meet business and technical needs.
- Work closely with business analysts data architects and developers to ensure alignment between data models and business goals.
- Define and document database structures including tables views indexes keys and relationships.
- Ensure data integrity consistency and quality by defining and implementing standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with the database administration team to optimize performance through efficient data structures and indexes.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of data models relationships and definitions for use across the organization.
- Utilize data modeling tools such as Erwin PowerDesigner or similar to create and visualize models.
- Ensure data models comply with organizational security policies data governance standards and regulatory requirements.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies trends and best practices in data modeling and database management.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- Proven experience as a Data Modeler or similar role with a strong portfolio of implemented data models.
- Handson experience with relational (e.g. SQL Server Oracle) and NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB Cassandra).
- Proficiency in data modeling tools (e.g. Erwin PowerDesigner Toad Data Modeler).
- Strong SQL skills for data analysis and query optimization.
- Experience with ETL processes and tools.
- Understanding of data governance security and compliance standards.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS Azure or Google Cloud is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in crossfunctional teams.
- Experience in big data ecosystems and technologies (e.g. Hadoop Spark).
- Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Certification in data modeling database design or cloud platforms is advantageous.
- Federal Experience is a plus.
- Required Security clearance.
