Responsible for the receipt verification and processing of all goods received by the hotel. Manage daily purchasing activities and assist in the supervision of purchasing personnel.
What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Accept delivery log and communicate all deliveries according to Hotel policies and procedures
- Supervise lead and train staff
- Review storage and claims of items received from suppliers
- Maintain internal control on all items purchased.
- Review requisitions. Confer with vendors/suppliers to obtain products or services information such as price availability and delivery schedule
- Select products for purchase prepare purchase orders or bid requests in the absence of the Food and Beverage Buyer
- Inspect all deliveries as they arrive to ensure Hotel guidelines and standards are met.
- Compile records of items purchased or transferred between departments price deliveries and inventories
- Compute total cost spread sheets of items purchased
- Assist stocking and restock storerooms
- Deliver products received to ordering departments
- Deliver packages to guest and/or Guest Services
- Providing purchasing support to hotel operations staff as needed
- Assist in purchasing Food in absence of Food Buyer
Qualifications :
Your experience and skills include:
- Leadership experience in the receiving field required
- Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
- University/College degree in a related discipline an asset
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
- Highly responsible & reliable with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs remaining calm and courteous at all times
