We have an exciting opportunity for a Tool PreSetter Technician to join our Machine Shop. This is a new role as we look to shape our future in 2025 and beyond. In this role you will manage the daytoday preparation building and presetting of CNC spindle tool assemblies to support our metallics production. This is a great opportunity for a passionate individual with experience in a manufacturing environment to come join us on the journey ahead.
As a Tool PreSetter Technician your responsibilities will include:
Gather CNC spindle tool assemblies Work Orders work holding fixtures and material and the part specific Work Instructions ready for production to meet the requirements of the business.
Deliver completed Job Packs to the correct machine tool/area using tool trolleys as supplied.
Disassemble CNC spindle tool assemblies after production.
Clean and examine CNC spindle tooling assemblies and ancillary components (collets etc.). Remove coolant/cutting fluid residue identify damage rectify if possible/raise as a serviceability issue to the relevant authority.
Discard for recycling out of life/worn/damaged cutter tooling.
Store all CNC spindle tool holders and cutter tooling in their designated areas when not in use and document accordingly.
Raise purchase requisitions for replacement of adhoc special cutter tooling.
To manage the booking in/out of cutter tooling tool holders ancillary components and fixtures to ensure we have an efficient inventory control system that supports our commitment to 5S principles.
Check and validate used cutter tooling to maximise tool life with the key objective to reduce waste and cutter tooling spend.
Ensure shift changeover communication is concise to ensure a seamless transition.
We are looking for a Tool PreSetter Technician with the following skills and experience:
Previous experience within a fastpaced environment preferably in a Machining/Manufacturing environment.
Previous experience or knowledge of cutter tooling assemblies processes and methods is beneficial.
Selfmotivated innovative and with the ability to work unsupervised to challenging deadliness.
Demonstrate effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with changing priorities.
Excellent Communication skills and ability to work crossfunctionally.
A team player with a positive cando attitude and drive for continuous improvement.
Please note this role is working on a weekend shift: Friday to Sunday.
