Job Description

Our mission is to generate high quality monoclonal antibodies in alpacas and sheep to contribute to breakthrough discoveries and therapeutic advances. 
In this role you will be responsible for conducting and supervising animal experiments on sheep and alpacas with the primary aim of generating new monoclonal antibodies. The successful candidate will ensure the highest standards of animal care and welfare while implementing rigorous experimental protocols to meet our research objectives.

  • Designing planning and conducting animal experiments on sheep and alpacas spezialising in the production of monoclonal antibodies.
  • Perform and oversee procedures such as immunization blood sampling and tissue collection while monitoring and assessing the health and welfare of the test animals to ensure compliance with ethical and animal welfare standards.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including immunologists molecular biologists and laboratory technicians to achieve research objectives and therefore maintain accurate and detailed experimental records and analyze and interpret data to provide meaningful insights.
  • Keep abreast of the latest advances in veterinary science and immunology to incorporate best practices into research protocols and contribute to the preparation of scientific reports publications and presentations.
  • Ensure compliance with all institutional local and national regulations related to animal research and laboratory safety.

Qualifications :

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent with a background in laboratory animal science PhD preferred. 
  • Initial experience of conducting animal experiments preferably with large animals such as sheep and alpacas. Good understanding of animal welfare regulations and ethical considerations in research.
  • Knowledge of techniques related to monoclonal antibody production preferably in alpacas or sheep and antibody screening.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously combined with effective communication and interpersonal skills and the desire to work collaboratively in a teamoriented environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
