We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Business Development Manager (BDM) to develop and manage profitable new business in the food testing and label review sectors. As the BDM you will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities ensuring revenue growth and meeting key performance indicators (KPIs). You will work closely with clients and internal teams to deliver highquality testing and label review services while building longterm profitable client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Acquisition: Identify potential clients and key decisionmakers within their organizations. Understand their unique needs and position SGSs food testing and label review services as the optimal solution.
Objection Handling: Effectively address client objections by clarifying any misunderstandings emphasizing agreements and working through differences to achieve positive outcomes.
Client Relationship Management: Present SGSs new products and services strengthen relationships with existing clients and enhance customer satisfaction. Build and sustain longterm profitable relationships.
Pricing & Contract Negotiation: Negotiate pricing and terms of supply for each designated contract or prospect ensuring a win/win attitude while aiming to maximize profitability and add value for both SGS and the client.
Consultative Sales Approach: Approach every opportunity and prospect with a solutionbased mindset ensuring all sales are made in a consultative manner tailored to meet the clients specific needs.
Pipeline Management: Maintain and track your sales pipeline ensuring accurate forecasting and budgeting for future sales. Provide regular updates and progress reports to senior management.
Presentations: Deliver professional engaging presentations to potential clients promoting SGSs expertise capabilities and competitive advantages in food testing and label review services.
Market Intelligence: Keep up to date with industry trends regulations and competitors to identify new opportunities for SGSs services ensuring we stay ahead in the market.
Qualifications :
Degree or equivalent in Engineering Science or Businessrelated subject
Full driving license for use in the UK
Proven business development track record in selling technical services to the food and retail sectors
Knowledge of current and future food testing and label review service offerings
Effective communication skills verbal written and presentation to include technical subject matter.

Membership of relevant industry body/ committee/ steering group
Successful tender qualification and submission
Commercial / marketing/ sales activities
Attainment of service sector sales targets
