Job Description:

We are seeking experienced and dedicated Med Surg Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our team at Round Rock. This fulltime night shift position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment within a 101bed fullservice teaching hospital which is Magnet designated. As an RN in the Med Surg department you will play a critical role in providing highquality patient care conducting clinical assessments and developing and implementing care plans that address the needs of our diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and prioritize the needs of patients and their families.
• Develop implement and evaluate individualized care plans to achieve desired patient outcomes making adjustments as necessary.
• Build therapeutic relationships with patients and families managing discomfort and maintaining professionalism.
• Educate patients families nurses and community members to empower them with knowledge for better healthcare decisions.
• Collaborate with colleagues and the community to create and follow through on patient care plans delegating tasks as needed.
• Utilize critical thinking and problemsolving skills to address patient care challenges ensuring safety effectiveness and efficiency.
• Contribute to the growth and development of your peers and show a commitment to community service.

Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Active and valid nursing license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Strong understanding of nursing and patient care standards as well as procedures.
• Knowledge of nursing laws rules standards and guidelines.
• Proficiency in medical terminology disease prevention management and common medications.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office electronic medical documentation and scheduling systems.
