Talent Acquisition Consultant
Summary
Acting as a trusted advisor to the assigned business area the Talent Acquisition Consultant develops and executes effective positionspecific Talent Acquisition strategies to ensure open positions are filled with high quality talent in a timely fashion. The consultant acts as subject matter expert in talent acquisition but also in functional market expertise industry trends job knowledge organizational structure and ongoing business strategy to support business needs. The consultant will create exceptional candidate experiences and be known and recognized for it.
Primary Duties and responsibilities
- Manages the fullcycle recruiting process with an emphasis on building strong hiring manager partnerships and candidate advocacy to attract and retain top talent.
- Consults with hiring managers to develop recruitment strategies for assigned positions.
- Creates a robust pipeline of candidates through advanced sourcing including web searches and utilizing our current applicant tracking system Indeed LinkedIn Facebook etc. to increase creative digital sourcing.
- Provides an exceptional candidate experience both internally and externally throughout the hiring process to promote Northwestern Mutual as a great place to work.
- Manages weekly recruiting metrics and reports pertaining to open positions and recruiting operations and uses this data to influence hiring and support actionable decision making.
- Interviews and qualifies potential candidates based on the agreed upon competencies needed goals and needs of the business to hire the best fit candidate.
- Manages the recruitment processes by appropriately tracking statuses within the applicant tracking system to allow for accurate reporting to support overall talent acquisition processes and business goals.
- Possesses knowledge of the organizations business model operations financial goals and overall Talent strategy.
- Understands the knowledge skills experience and competency requirements for positions and for sourcing top talent for current needs and pipelining future for needs.
- Ability to provide value added recruiting advice to hiring managers to help influence talent decisions and negotiate compensation based on job and market trends.
- Encourages hiring managers to keep diversity frontofmind and understand what diversity looks like on their team to help influence diversity of people and thought.
- Participates in a variety of related projects that are new complex or may require a high degree of initiative selfdirection and innovation.
- Acts as a mentor to designated department staff and maintains a level of responsibility for training new hires on the Talent Acquisition team.
- Engages sourcing and coordination resources into the process at the right time.
- Ability to fill roles ranging in scope from entry level positions up to leadership level positions.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- A minimum of six years of recruiting experience.
- Solid business insight and broad understanding of current business trends and strategies.
- Ability to engage at all levels of the organization handle ambiguity structure priorities deliver on results and build relationships while thinking strategically and objectively.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities that require attention to detail and nuanced communication.
- Advanced consulting skills with demonstrated ability to successfully persuade senior stakeholders.
- Sound knowledge of all state and federal laws and regulations regarding Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action is highly desirable.
- Expertise in Boolean search methods.
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite.
