Job Description

Position: Senior Transport Planner
Location: London
Type: Fulltime
Salary: Competitive based on experience

Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Transport Planner to join our team in London. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of expertise in managing transport planning projects delivering innovative solutions and providing strategic advice to clients in both the private and public sectors. You will lead a variety of projects collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and play a pivotal role in securing planning permissions for major developments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Lead transport planning projects including budgeting resourcing and delivery within agreed timelines.
  • Client Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring their objectives are met.
  • Technical Expertise: Prepare highquality transport planning documents such as Transport Assessments Travel Plans Feasibility Studies and Parking Management Plans.
  • Design Advice: Provide expert guidance on access design swept path analysis and road safety audits.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Manage Section 106 negotiations and liaise with local authorities Transport for London (TfL) and other stakeholders.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with architects urban planners and engineers to deliver integrated solutions for complex projects.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Participate in preapplication meetings design review panels and public consultations.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering or equivalent
  • Chartered status or membership with a relevant professional body (e.g. MCIHT).
  • Eexperience in transport planning with a strong focus on leading projects through the planning application process.
  • Proven expertise in delivering transport planning for various sectors including residential commercial healthcare education and mixeduse developments.
  • Strong technical knowledge of transportrelated software and tools.

Key Skills:

  • Comprehensive understanding of transport planning processes and regulations in the UK.
  • Proficiency in producing and reviewing transportrelated documents such as:
    • Transport Assessments and Statements
    • Travel Plans and Monitoring Reports
    • Parking and Construction Management Plans
    • Road Safety Audit Reports
  • Ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
