Job Description

Axiomer could potentially yield a new class of innovative medicines and treat currently untreatable diseases.
Our Chemistry Manufacturing and Control (CMC) department is currently looking for an Associate Researcher Oligonucleotide Chemistry (Fulltime) to join our team.
We are looking for candidates with a passion for working in a chemical laboratory this role would suit a recent graduate with a background in chemistry or related disciplines. The CMC department has a central role within the ProQR Therapeutics organization. The CMC Department develops manufactures and characterizes oligonucleotides and therapeutic formulations for research clinical development and commercialization.
The Role
The Associate Researcher will support the inhouse lab activities of the Drug Substance & Chemistry team which is part of the CMC department. The successful candidate will work closely with other researchers/scientists in an interdisciplinary team environment to help with all activities related to the production of oligonucleotides which includes:
- Manufacturing of oligonucleotides by performing all stages of the process such as synthesis cleavage & deprotection and purification.
- Perform proper documentation and accurate record keeping of experimental data
- Execution of analytical tests (HPLC UVVis and mass spectrometry)
- Support preparation of technical protocols and reports
- Support the preparation or revision of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Support general lab activities such as equipment maintenance and inventory management
Location: Leiden NL (onsite)
We expect our Associate Researcher to have:
- An MLO or HLO degree in; Organic chemistry analytical chemistry biochemistry biopharmaceutical sciences or related scientific discipline with up to 2 years of industry experience.
- Strong laboratory skills and high degree of attention to detail.
- Good understanding of and handson experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC LCMS and UVVis spectroscopy.
- A Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- A responsible person with a proactive attitude who can work independently.
- Being flexible analytical and wellorganized.
- A team player.
We would like our Associate Researcher to have:
- Knowledge of oligonucleotide (or peptide) manufacturing (synthesis purification and/or analysis) is a plus.
- Should enjoy challenging situations and have the flexibility to work in a dynamic and fastmoving environment where there is freedom to act.
