Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Duration: 12 months
Location: Baytown Texas (onsite from day one)
Visa: USC GC GC/H4EAD (Preference given to local candidates but relocation is acceptable)
Immediate hiring due to urgent requirement
Must have oil & gas background substation designing transformer maintenance knowledge of switchgear and fuse point
The role involves optimization troubleshooting and design of a wide variety of electrical equipment
Responsible for ensuring the safety reliability and profitability of installed electrical equipment
Must maintain close contact with operations maintenance engineering and project development teams
Should be able to design and specify electrical equipment such as motors breakers relays etc.
Responsible for coordinating projects for new or replacement equipment among engineering maintenance and operations
Will provide commissioning startup assistance and support of electrical systems
Should serve as an electrical technology expert liaison between project engineers plant maintenance and operations personnel
Expected to support and interface with business teams to maintain and improve electrical reliability while reducing maintenance costs
Part of the role involves participating in screening optimization and basic design preparation for electric power systems
Must provide technical support and services to operating facilities
Will perform power systems simulations and analyses
Expected to update Company practices and specifications
Must participate actively in the Electrical Community of Practice and incident investigations in support of assets
Expected to manage electrical area classification for assets within the facility supported
Required work experience: Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 10 years of experience in the petrochemical industry with power systems
Must possess good interpersonal skills problemsolving skills and knowledge of Electrical Safety standards and Area Electrical Classification standards
Willingness to travel domestically or internationally in support of electrical equipment construction or repairs is preferred
Work experience in petrochemical production units is a plus.
