Job Description

Our client requires the services of a Software Engineer (Advanced) Midrand/Menlyn/Rosslyn/Home Office rotation

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Relevant IT Degree / Diploma / equivalent work Experience.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • SAP BW/4 Hana & Modelling
  • SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
  • DevOps Role in team.
  • Understanding of BW BI and SAC.
  • Knowledge of both BW/4 Hana and BW on Hana development.
  • SAC Dashboard Development using different connections also import/export of BW/4 Hana.
  • SAP BWonHANA & BW4/HANA development experience
  • SAP ABAP Development & Debugging experience.
  • Any additional responsibilities assigned in the Agile Working Model (AWM) Charter

ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS

  • Speaking German (advantageous).
  • Agile experience (advantageous).
  • ITIL process knowledge and work experience (advantageous)
  • ABAP knowledge would be advantageous.
  • Problem solving capabilities.
  • Fitforbusinesspurpose mindset i.e. the solutions provided must meet the business goals.
  • Excellent communication skills and teamoriented work behaviour in a distributed team.
  • Strong ability to understand and interpret Business needs and requirements with the ability to move concepts through to proposal and finally successful implementation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and written) with both technical and nontechnical colleagues / users.
  • Proficient in conducting user research in foreign markets i.e. language barriers may exist.
  • Should be willing to deal with (talk to) our customers. In most cases they will be foreign customers and language barriers might exist.
  • Ability to work as part of a team inter dependant as well as independently and submit deliverables on time and in excellent quality. DISCIPLINED SELF STARTER.
  • Above board work ethics this is of utmost importance.
  • Flexibility to take up different tasks in the project.
  • Ability and willingness to coach demonstrate and give training to fellow colleagues and users when required.
  • Willing and able to travel extensively for up to 2 weeks at a time (international).

ROLE:

  • Our client is looking for an advanced skilled SAP BW and SAC developer to work with a highly skilled team of Senior and Expert developers within the Shopfloor domain specifically supporting the Product Team of FG752 in Germany.
  • If you are a passionate developer who is hands willing to learn and grow with the MROTD ZA Team and work in collaboration with our Product Team are excited to explore latest technologies full of energy and ambition handson and not afraid of making your hands dirty this is the right position for you.
  • Development documentation.
  • Analyse and scope EndUser authorization roles and provide user assistance.
  • Conduct Unit tests integration tests and System Integration security tests.
  • Understand the business requirements preparing ASIS and TOBE documents/user stories and documents and get signoff from users for implementation.
  • Requirements management and communication
  • Good understanding of SAC of live and import connections.
  • Good understanding of BW and SAC authorisations.
  • Interactions with clients through meetings calls and emails.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting issues for the systems and providing support.
  • Interact with consultants of other modules and teams in the ZA Hub if required.
  • User interface transactional solutions.
  • Document requirements in appropriate format depending on methodology followed.
  • Good knowledge of ATC tools e.g. Confluence and Jira.
  • Assist with identification and management of risks.
  • GoLive preparation and Hypercare support
  • Preparing User / Howto Manuals and conducting training to other Team Members
  • Creation of ODP RFC SDA SDI File and DB connections for source systems.
  • Test management including but not limited to:
  • Participation in Test Analysis and Testing activities as per XRAY functionality
  • Conduct basic BW testing after any system upgrade
  • Preparation of testing documents and perform internal testing for change requests
  • Integration testing with other modules
  • Performing regression testing
  • Preparation of test cases
