Job Description

Job Title: RN Gastroenterology (GI)
Location: Miami FL
Duration: 1 year (options for 26 weeks or fulltime)
Start Date: March 2025
Shift Schedule: 8 / 10/ 12 hrs rotating day night and evening shifts to include weekdays weekends and holidays.
Oncall is required

Qualification:

Education: BSN / ASN
License: Current valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in any State of USA
Certifications: BLS ACLS (Certification from the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) preferred but not required.)
Experience: 3 years experience in an Outpatient setting (i.e.) Telemetry and Acute Care experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Gastroenterology (GI) RN requires flexibility in schedule and assignments to cover bronchoscopy GI clinic and GI department.
  • The GI Nurse functions as a charge nurse/team leader.
  • Performs staffing assignments workflow interventions if needed and direct activities of medical technicians.
  • Actively participate and leads the team to attend training and education of new medical equipment scopes and accessories.
  • Analyses available resources and identifies risk areas including staffing supplies and medical equipment and their availability.
  • Ensures compliance with hospital policy and procedures related to safe work practices and body mechanics as well as use of mechanical devices.
  • Encourages prompt reporting of all incidents and unsafe or unhealthy environmental situations to the supervisor.
  • The registered nurse is responsible for the pre cleaning process of all scopes accordingly to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
  • The incumbent has the responsibility to verify the reusable medical equipment reprocess and can suspend the reuse of any RME if he/she suspects that the device was not properly cleaned or sterilized according to the policy.
