Key Responsibilities - Drawing Review: Analyze and verify detailed structural steel fabrication and erection drawings for accuracy completeness and compliance with design specifications.
- Code Compliance: Ensure all drawings align with local building codes AISC AWS standards and projectspecific requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with structural engineers drafters project managers and fabrication teams to address discrepancies and resolve design conflicts.
- Material Verification: Confirm accuracy in material quantities grades sizes and specifications as outlined in the drawings.
- Quality Control: Perform quality checks to identify and mitigate potential design issues such as incorrect dimensions or omissions.
- Constructability Reviews: Assess the feasibility of designs for fabrication transport and field erection.
- Documentation: Maintain organized records of drawings revisions and related documents.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates reports and recommendations to senior management and project teams.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on the latest structural steel codes standards and best practices.
Required Qualifications - Experience: Minimum of 6 years in reviewing or preparing structural steel fabrication and erection drawings.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of structural steel codes and standards (AISC AWS) and fabrication/erection processes.
- Software Proficiency: Skilled in drafting tools like AutoCAD Tekla Structures or similar.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to identify discrepancies and ensure high drawing accuracy.
- ProblemSolving: Expertise in resolving design conflicts and constructability challenges.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
- Location: Must be able to commute to Oakdale CA 95361.
Preferred Qualifications - Certification in Structural Steel or related fields.
- Experience with 3D modeling or BIM tools.
- Knowledge of automated fabrication and erection processes.
Compensation and Benefits - Pay: Hourly with overtime opportunities.
